INDUSTRY BLOGS

I love news and know about the state of this nation in regards to economy, politics, among other things.  HLN is great of being new, fresh, and trendy. I like to know where our nation's capital is on the issues so I enjoy checking out The White House's blog on occasion although, I am not very political. The Young Turks are my favorites as they stretch boundaries far beyond other news mediums in regards to the truth about the state of the world.

My MCBS Story

Before I started the MCBS Program, I had been searching for quality education in all the wrong places. I began my post-secondary education at Southern University A&M.
I had always thought I wanted to be a social worker due to growing up as a Foster Child and then later adopted. So, social work that is where I began my concentration.
But then, I had an epiphany. I realized that my passion is to motivate and help people, and I didn't need to be a social worker to do it. I alwayed loved writing stories, news, current events, public relations, and media as a whole, and my goal is to expose the truth to the public in an effort to advance the current stucture of this society.
Because of that, I began to focus on media and entertainment. I, then, tried various colleges including, Southern University A&M, Southern University at New Orleans, Delgado Community College, and University of New Orleans. Because of that, I have 62 college credits. UNO was the last straw as their curriculum for my field of focus is very limited. I grew weary of long financial aid lines, conflicting class and work schedules, finding a babysitter, toting large book, amongst other things. Not to mention my grades were beginning to slip. Because of that, I began to have more financial aid problems. I wasn't going to give up on my education. So I began to search for other options, one of those options was to return the most affordable school, Delgado, but I realized that time and money was running out. So I kept searching.
Until finally, my mother-in-law mentioned pursuing online education. I never thought that I had the attention span for such a new way of learning, but for some reason, hearing her consider it made me open my mind to the idea. I, then remembered that Full Sail has online study. I did my reasearch, called them up, and in two weeks, my LaunchBox arrived and I was enrolled in school. I began classes the day after Superbowl here in New Orleans in which I had worked double shifts. I was tired but so excited. Now, I can truely say that I love my education. And ever since I decided to pursue my passion for media, my quality of life has substantially increased as I am now pursuing a long lived passion. Best of all, I get to have more time with the one's that I love.
